Jessie is passionate about dance. Jessie was based in Sydney where she completed a diploma in dance from Brent Street Studios – one of the top dance training institutions in the world. Whai Rawa has been a big a big help in financing her tertiary study and Jessie is also planning to use her Whai Rawa savings for some of her long term goals like buying a house back in New Zealand.

Because Jessie is not an Australian citizen, she was ineligible for financial assistance during her study and says that Whai Rawa made it possible for her to pursue her dream of making dance a career. Now Jessie is busy teaching up to ten dance classes per week. She coaches the competition team at the DJAZZEX Dance School in Manly who have celebrated first place and podium finishes under her tutelage.

“I am currently working as a dance teacher at three different Dance schools across the Sydney region. I teach Hiphop, Jazz, Contemporary, Irish and occasionally Ballet. My students range from 4 years old to adults. It is a really fun job. We do a whole range of different events throughout the year. We practise a lot of technique as well as preparing for concerts, fundraisers, street fairs and flash mobs.”

When Jessie is not in the dance studio, she indulges in her other hobbies.

“I’m also very interested in Photography, especially Landscape photography. I just love the colours and beauty of the land. Growing up next to a beach in New Zealand also makes me very much a beach girl and Sydney has some of the world’s best. I like to spend my weekends sunbathing and swimming at any of Sydney’s amazing beaches.”

A long term savings plan means that Jessie can set goals now and plan ahead for a successful future after her dancing career.

“After my dancing career is over I plan to study environmental science and management and so will try and ruffle up some savings for when that time comes. One day I would love to buy a house back home in New Zealand which would be great to have some help from Whai Rawa in.”

“Whai Rawa is the smartest way to save, join up and success will be on its’ way.”
