Having a budget in place can really assist you to reach your financial goals!

A budget can identify areas of excess spending that you may be able to allocate elsewhere.

Whether your goals are short-term or long-term, a budget may assist you in reaching these goals faster.

👉If you need to save money fast, you can create a short-term ‘strict’ budget. You can cut down spending on your ‘wants’ and put that money towards your goal.

👉 If you are wanting to save for the long-term, your budget can reflect this by putting small amounts of pūtea away towards this goal. Creating a sustainable budget where you can put money away for the long-term can be helpful. It’s not glamorous but small steps consistently will pay off for you.

When your goals and life change, do not forget to update your budget to reflect these changes! Budgets are not set in stone, they are fluid.
